Our Origin Story
Amy Livengood is a nurse that experienced firsthand the frustrations associated with the lack of time and extra staff required to safely mobilize a patient with multiple medical devices. Being convinced, however, that early mobilization leads to better patient outcomes, Amy and Joe Livengood, MD, decided to design a practical solution geared towards making the whole process easier and safer for both the patient and their attending medical staff. Working with a team, they engineered a device that simplifies the process of patient mobilization. Their vision was to empower patients to walk and take their vital equipment with them rather than be confined to their hospital bed because of their equipment.
Originally branded the PACE, the LIVENGOOD mobi patient mobility system has been improved from numerous design revisions sparked by feedback from nurses, physical therapists, doctors, and most importantly patients. The mobi patient mobility system is a patient-centric mobile headwall (equipment consolidator) that promotes early patient mobility. The system allows all equipment, gasses, medicines and supplies to travel with the patient as they ambulate. The mobi patient mobility system provides a better way for hospitals and caregivers to speed recovery time for patients while increasing service capacity up to 30%.
